WE AGAIN!!

Bengal is rich in diverse folk forms, deeply embedded in life of rural and tribal people. Unfortunately with rapid spread of urbanisation and change in life style, these folk art forms are in a state of extinction. Many of the artists are in a state of abject poverty. Their basic livelihood is often at stake. The art forms are also losing relevance.
The performing folk art forms were means of expression of emotions, joys and concerns. They were never visualised as source of livelihood. As part of a unique initiative by a group of young & energetic people, and some civil groups, most of them are folk enthusiast, working with these folk art forms of Bengal for last 20 years, are being documented and revitalized as sustainable livelihoods. The goal is to promote and propagate these art forms so that the artists can take them up as livelihood.
To make this initiative a full proof one, these groups have decided to make this WEB venture to lunch so that this venture can help the non-bengali people to know the folk & tribal culture. At the same time the produces of the artisans can be sold worldwide.

This is a treasure trove of Lok O Adibasi Sonskriti(Folk and Tribal Culture of Bengal). We, a group of people are working with folk and tribal artists and artisans for last 20 years.
